No experience is necessary for you to learn, just the desire and willingness to work at it. By the end of the first or second lesson, you will be playing real songs with 2 hands. You will be shown basic technique and learn to play using finger numbers. No note reading will be required for you to get started enjoying your instrument.
FOR THE PAST 21 YEARS, I HAVE HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF TEACHING THE PIANO TO HUNDREDS OF STUDENTS OF ALL AGES, AT ALL LEVELS. MY APPROACH TO TEACHING IS TO FIRST BECOME ACQUAINTED WITH MY STUDENTS, THEIR GOALS, STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES, AND THEIR MUSICAL TASTES. EACH ONE HAS A UNIQUE LEARNING PROCESS THAT I USE AS A GUIDE TO OPTIMIZE THEIR EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE. I ENCOURAGE MY STUDENTS TO CHOOSE THE MUSIC THEY WANT TO LEARN, AND EXPOSE THEM TO A VARIETY OF STYLES.
I HAVE TAUGHT CHILDREN AS YOUNG AS 5 AND ADULTS IN THEIR 80’S. I HAVE WORKED WITH THE MOST GIFTED AS WELL AS THE MOST CHALLENGED OF INDIVIDUALS, FROM THE HIGH ACHIEVERS TO THOSE WITH AUTISM, ADD, AND VARIOUS LEARNING DISABILITIES.
I HAVE WRITTEN OVER 50 ARRANGEMENTS OF STANDARD SONGS, FOR PIANO SOLO, JAZZ ENSEMBLE, AND VOCAL ACCOMPANIMENT, AND COMPOSED ONE ORIGINAL BALLAD. I HAVE REHEARSED AND PERFORMED WITH SEVERAL VOCALISTS IN A VARIETY OF VENUES.
