Thank you for visiting my profile in your search for an online teacher of the Tarot, Astrology, Numerology, and Magic as tools for personal development. Typically, universities do not award degrees in any of these disciplines, so I cannot list any ‘formal’ academic credentials in them. However, I can report that I began studying the Esoteric Arts extensively in 1971 and have reached a level of expertise such that I am presently writing my own books on the subjects as they pertain to personal/inner growth and 'self' development, which I feel are insightful, unique to the fields, and hope to have published over the next few years. I should clarify my use of the term, “Magic,” as it has a dual meaning. By, “Magic,” I am not speaking of ‘the parlor tricks’ variety. Rather, I am speaking of its two main branches: 1) Theurgy; sometimes called ‘High Magic,’ its etymology translates simply to ‘God-working.’ In modern terms, it could be equated to ‘self work,’ ‘self help,’ or 'self development.' For those who have found traditional psychological counseling ineffective, the study of Theurgy might prove a viable alternative as it has much to do with excavating the unconscious mind; in effect, discovering unconscious impedances to career progress, acquiring wealth, good health, gratifying romantic relationships, etc and, 2) Thaumaturgy; sometimes called ‘Low Magic,’ its etymology translates simply to ‘Miracle-working.’ It has to do with personal development by causing beneficial changes in oneself and thus one’s environment through various paradigms, techniques, and exertion of will. As the Tarot, Astrology, Numerology, and Magic are closely related fields, I combine all of them in my teaching. After a basic presentation of the subjects, the ‘Socratic Method’ seems to work best in which students ask questions and then I answer them to the best of my ability drawing into my answers pertinent information and references from each of the Esoteric fields while focusing on their applications to personal/inner growth and 'self' development. In doing so, I also attempt to eliminate much of the ‘hocus-pocus’ stigmatic to these fields through sensible discourse. Since the Industrial Revolution, modern society seems to have formulated most of our lives for us. We go to school, get good educations so that we can get well-paying jobs so that we can fritter away our relatively brief lives chasing after ‘green peices of paper,’ all the while trying to convince ourselves that we are genuinely happy and contented under such circumstances. In a world intent upon making ‘gingerbread men’ of us, I have found the lifetime study of the Esoteric Arts invaluable in achieving senses of personal reward, maturation, gratification, and---in the Jungian sense---individuation and wholeness: simply becoming a more effective individual. I’m confident that you will, too. Thank you in advance for your consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.
